Rapid Innovation: Middle Atlantic Products Launches Premium RMM Solution through Xyte

Challenge
While Middle Atlantic's customers could easily access their IP-connected power distribution products on their local networks, it was a bit more difficult to access the devices and support them remotely due to network security concerns from IT departments. A key value proposition of Middle Atlantic products is remote power management for the integrators that install the units – the ability to turn outlets on and off, receive alerts and monitor telemetries; access to the cloud was therefore imperative for the success of their product line and their ability to provide an exceptional experience for their customers.
Approach
Middle Atlantic explored a few options, including building a solution in-house. The company ultimately decided to partner with Xyte for two reasons: from a competitive point of view, Xyte was able to rapidly deploy a solution in a short timeframe, and the Xyte Device Cloud came with out-of-the-box features that Middle Atlantic’s customers required.
Solution
Within a few short months, Middle Atlantic launched RackLink™ Cloud, an intelligent platform that enables remote monitoring and management of the Premium+ Series power distribution units (PDUs) via the cloud. Powered by Xyte, RackLink Cloud was designed to make it easier for integrators to proactively monitor and manage the company’s enterprise-grade, IP-based monitoring and control power products from anywhere and without rolling a truck.
“Not only does Xyte provide a great benefit to Middle Atlantic’s customers, but to Middle Atlantic itself,” explained Shane Roma, Product Manager, Middle Atlantic Products (Legrand).
With the data and analytics Middle Atlantic can now see from their devices, the company is able to create new utilities and better tools for their customers. “This is going to give us access to key points of data that help us create better tools for our customers, expand our product line, expand services we’re able to provide our customers beyond just hardware,” Roma said. “It also helps track how much energy we’re saving, and how we can help create more energy savings for both us and our customers.”
