Valens and Xyte Partner to Expand HDBaseT Chipset Monitoring Capabilities
AV industry leader Valens adopts Xyte’s platform to enhance HDBaseT device management, support product development, and add advanced services for its customers
Tel-Aviv, Israel - February 2, 2021 - Xyte recently announced that Valens, the inventor and leading developer of HDBaseT technology for the audiovisual market, has expanded its engagement with the company’s platform. Xyte’s unique solution offers a superior support experience for system integrators and end-users of hardware devices. Recent developments in the platform permit remote deployment and monitoring of any HDBaseT device, accelerating the integration of HDBaseT AV and IT management.
Workplace by Xyte enables IT teams and managed service providers (MSPs) to remotely configure, monitor, and maintain AV, unified collaboration, and digital signage products. HDBaseT manufacturers like Valens can stay ahead of the competition by incorporating advanced cloud-based features and remote managed services into their product lines. Xyte’s open platform, featuring proactive monitoring capabilities, licensing management, firmware updates, remote configuration, and more, allows system integrators and installers to deploy and service their systems at a lower cost and in a shorter time and gives new meaning to what an HDBaseT experience can be for their customers.
Xyte CEO Omer Brookstein stresses that new features in the high-fidelity platform will help Valens’ customers refine their product roadmaps by monitoring feature usage. With unprecedented access to data analytics and insights, Valens will also be able to provide its system integrators additional opportunities to develop new managed services offerings.
“Our collaboration will benefit not just our two companies, but the AV industry as a whole,” said Brookstein. “HDBaseT product manufacturers will be able to empower their channels and system integrators with unparalleled managed services capabilities. Xyte’s solution introduces a new business model and increased revenue stream opportunities, allowing hardware manufacturers to offer customers more enticing, value-added maintenance contracts. Additionally, the new Support Center feature provides end-users with an exceptional support experience as integrators can escalate issues directly to the manufacturer’s support staff for remote debugging.”
Valens recently began using Workplace by Xyte to allow HDBaseT chipsets to connect to an integrated cloud, giving a boost to AV and IT convergence for manufacturers, integrators, and end-users. Valens has now added new capabilities to Workplace by Xyte, including the option to monitor and manage its evaluation kits to better support HDBaseT product development. This is particularly important as more products require end-to-end network connectivity through reliable and accurate control mechanisms.
Gabi Shriki, Senior Vice President & Head of AV Business for Valens, emphasized that the Xyte partnership will further the goal of strengthening HDBaseT by enabling a more robust ecosystem and accelerating AV and IT integration. “This has always been Valens’ vision – to bring a wave of opportunities into the market and develop a standard that will allow end-users more choice by mixing and matching devices from different vendors,” said Shriki. “Workplace by Xyte’s vendor-agnostic approach brings strong value to integrators by extending management applications across more AV and IT devices, regardless of the device vendor or technology.”
Valens will offer firmware updates, provisioning services, and advanced diagnostics capabilities, providing added value for product developers that use the Valens Stello product family. This starts with the VS3000, the first HDBaseT chipset to support long-distance distribution of uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 video (HDMI 2.0) over a single category cable.
“Management and monitoring of our evaluation kits in the cloud, which our IT department didn’t need to invest in building a new infrastructure for, will accelerate and simplify product development for our customers,” continued Shriki. ”Since the latest VS3000 EVK microcontroller can communicate with the HDBaseT chipset and the network, our customers can just open the EVK, scan a QR code, and immediately register their devices to Workplace by Xyte. This provides a direct path toward developing Workplace by Xyte–native HDBaseT products that will provide great value to integrators and end-users, helping us to optimize our products for all.”
